Tax Compliance Day

Tax Compliance Day is an event hosted periodically by the Division of Taxation to give taxpayers an opportunity to seek resolution for your complex Rhode Island and/or federal tax issues in easily accessible locations and at convenient times.

Tax Compliance Day events are intended to help taxpayers access representatives from the IRS, the RI Division of Taxation, and other state and federal agencies, all in the same location at the same time.

    • Balance resolutions including Payment Plans and Offer in Compromise considerations
    • License and Registration clearances
  • IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS)
    • Wage and income transcript for VITA to prepare returns
    • On-site resolution to IRS account issues and if unable to resolve on the spot will create a case
  • IRS/VITA Services
    • Free Tax Preparation as far back to 2017 for both the federal and state personal income tax returns
    • E-file TY2022, TY2021 and TY2020
    • Paper file for TY2019, TY2018 and TY2017
  • RI Department of State's Division of Business Services
    • Notarial services
    • Entity status checks
    • General filing and maintenance information
    • State-level licensing information
    • Reinstatement (entity specific filing requirements and/or filing assistance)
    • Dissolution (entity specific filing requirements and/or filing assistance)
  • RI Department of Labor and Training's Employer Tax Unit

By Car:
Via Fruit Hill Avenue:
Turn onto College Road, continue straight and through the roundabout. Turn left onto Ferncrest Blvd. Bear left at the Ferncrest Blvd./Salisbury Dr. intersection to remain on Ferncrest. Follow Ferncrest and watch for signs directing you to Lot C. Park in Lot C.  When exiting Parking Lot C on foot, cross Ferncrest Blvd.; Alger Hall is the first building on the right.
Accessible parking is available between Lot C and Alger Hall in designated spots along Ferncrest Blvd.

Via Smith Street:
Turn onto Mount Pleasant Ave, take the fourth right onto College Road. Take the first Right onto Ferncrest Blvd. Bear left at the Ferncrest Blvd./Salisbury Dr. intersection to remain on Ferncrest. Follow Ferncrest and watch for signs directing you to Lot C. Park in Lot C. When exiting Parking Lot C on foot, cross Ferncrest Blvd.; Alger Hall is the first building on the right.
Accessible parking is available between Lot C and Alger Hall in designated spots along Ferncrest Blvd.
